LithiumSafe Wall Mounted Battery Emergency Kit

LithiumSafe™ Wall Mounted Battery Fire Containment Kit

Lithium battery incidents can occur without warning. Whether caused by overheating, physical damage, internal failure, or thermal runaway, a failing lithium-ion battery can quickly develop into a serious fire and smoke hazard. The LithiumSafe™ Wall Mounted Battery Emergency Kit is designed to provide an immediate and effective first response solution, ensuring that the necessary containment equipment is always visible, accessible, and ready for use when every second counts.

Ideal for offices, schools, universities, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, workshops, airports, marine environments, emergency response stations, and public buildings, the wall-mounted kit keeps critical lithium battery fire containment equipment permanently available at designated risk locations. By mounting the kit directly onto a wall, organizations can improve emergency preparedness, reduce response times, and help minimize damage caused by battery incidents.

How to Install the Wall Mounted Kit Bag

The rear side of the high-visibility orange outer kit bag is equipped with two industrial-grade hook Velcro strips that are securely sewn into the construction. Each kit is supplied with two matching loop Velcro tape strips, delivered separately.
For installation, the loop strips must be fixed directly onto the wall surface. This can be achieved by:Industrial adhesive bonding, mechanical fastening (screws, nails) or staple tacking (where suitable)
Once mounted, the hook-and-loop system provides a strong and durable fixation capable of safely supporting the full weight of the complete emergency kit. The fastening system remains secure even when the “Pull to Open” release flap is actively opened, ensuring the kit stays firmly attached to the wall during emergency deployment.

The Growing Need for Lithium Battery Incident Response Equipment

As lithium-ion batteries become increasingly common in laptops, tablets, power tools, medical equipment, drones, e-bikes, and portable electronics, the risk of battery failures continues to grow. Traditional fire extinguishers alone may not be sufficient to safely contain a thermal runaway event. A dedicated lithium battery emergency kit provides trained personnel with the appropriate equipment to isolate, contain, and manage a battery incident before it escalates.

By strategically positioning LithiumSafe™ Wall Mounted Battery Emergency Kits throughout your facility, you ensure that critical fire containment resources are always within reach when they are needed most.

  • Retail stores and service centers
  • Research laboratories and testing facilities

The kit is particularly suitable for environments where devices such as laptops, tablets, handheld scanners, power tools, drones, medical equipment, and other lithium-powered electronics are regularly used or charged. By positioning the kit close to these areas, personnel can respond more quickly to a damaged, overheating, smoking, or potentially failing battery.

The LithiumSafe™ Wall Mounted Battery Emergency Kit is designed for quick and straightforward installation on most wall surfaces.

The rear side of the high-visibility orange outer kit bag is equipped with two industrial-grade hook Velcro strips that are securely sewn into the construction. Each kit is supplied with two matching loop Velcro mounting strips.

Installation Steps:

  1. Select a visible and easily accessible location near areas where lithium-ion batteries are used, stored, or charged.
  2. Attach the supplied loop Velcro strips directly to the wall surface using one of the following methods:
    • Industrial adhesive bonding
    • Mechanical fastening (screws or nails)
    • Staple tacking (where suitable)
  3. Press the kit firmly onto the mounted loop strips to engage the hook-and-loop fastening system.
  4. Verify that the kit is securely attached and can be easily accessed in an emergency.
  5.

The mounting system remains secure even when the “Pull to Open” release flap is activated, ensuring that the kit stays firmly attached to the wall during emergency deployment.

Lithium-ion battery fires can produce extreme heat, flames, hot gases and molten materials. Standard gloves may not provide sufficient thermal protection during a thermal runaway event.

Lithium-ion battery fires differ significantly from conventional fires. When a battery enters thermal runaway, a self-sustaining chemical reaction occurs inside the cells, generating extreme heat, flammable gases, and, in many cases, its own oxygen. Because the reaction originates within the battery itself, it can continue even when external flames appear to have been extinguished.

Traditional extinguishing agents may provide a temporary cooling effect, but they often do not stop the underlying chemical reaction. As a result, the battery can reignite minutes or even hours later. In some cases, certain extinguishing agents may also react with battery electrolytes or decomposition products, potentially creating additional hazards.

For this reason, lithium-ion battery incidents are often managed through containment, isolation, and cooling, rather than relying solely on extinguishment. The primary objective is to prevent the incident from spreading to surrounding materials while allowing the battery to safely release its stored energy in a controlled environment.

Key considerations include:

  • A lithium-ion battery fire is fundamentally a chemical fire, not a conventional combustible fire.
  • Thermal runaway can generate oxygen and flammable gases internally, allowing the reaction to continue without relying solely on oxygen from the surrounding air.
  • Conventional extinguishing agents may cool the battery temporarily but often do not stop the internal chemical reactions.
  • Batteries that appear extinguished can reignite unexpectedly after cooling.
  • Some extinguishing agents can react with battery electrolytes or decomposition products, potentially worsening the situation.
  • Containment helps prevent flames, sparks, hot particles, and debris from spreading to nearby equipment or structures.

For these reasons, many lithium battery emergency procedures emphasize containment and isolation as the first priority, while cooling measures may be used to reduce temperatures and limit the risk of fire propagation.
